Welcome to our new newsletter!

Enjoy the new format of our newsletter. It gives us more autonomy to update you on the latest implementations of Traditionis Custodes while ensuring more flexibility in the report.

The pace of Traditionis Custodes

Almost two years ago, we began this journey of collecting responses to the Motu Proprio Traditionis Custodes and making them publicly available. Today, with over 250 confirmed responses, we can spot some interesting trends:

July 16, 2021, the Motu Proprio Traditionis Custodes is published.

From July to September 2021, the bishops who wanted to eliminate TLMs from their Dioceses acted quickly. The red line represents these most aggressive actions (banning all TLMs from the diocese), and the line barely changes after September 2021.

From September 2021 to December 2022, the yellow line (representing those dioceses that suppressed some TLMs) slowly grew, showing the movement from bishops worldwide to removing TLM from central parishes and allowing it only in Chapels.

Unfortunately, this trend may grow in 2023 after the Rescript.

The Rescript

As of today, I assume you are all aware of the Rescriptum ex Audientia SS.MI, 21.02.2023, which further restricts the bishops' ability to protect the Traditional Latin Mass celebration, especially in parish settings.

Unfortunately, we are already receiving reports of more TLMs being suppressed worldwide. We are working to validate those reports and will post them on the traditioniscustodes.info soon.

Please help us to reach more dioceses to make this report even more complete by sharing this newsletter

Controversy

The allegations from Rorate Caeli on Taylor Marshall's Pachamama stunt

Aquila Writings
Rorate-Caeli, Taylor Marshall, Pachamama and Traditionis Custodes
On December 7th, 2022, Rorate-Caeli said on Twitter that they could “affirm for sure, from the most reliable sources, that the whole thought process that led to Traditionis Custodes started with Marshall’s pachamama grift stunt”. The allegation is very, very serious…
